Get the most out of this Christmas season by using this local guide to some of Northern Nevada's best Christmas views and activities!

33rd Annual Hidden Valley Parade of Lights- This Reno classic lighting competition has been delighting local residents for over three decades! You can begin to see the amazing lights in the neighborhood as soon as you reach the peak of the hill on east Pembroke right off of McCarren Blvd.

USA TODAY Contest Finalist- Jeff Kendall's home on 2380 Solitude dr. in Reno was a top finalist for USA TODAY's 2014 "Americas Best Private Holiday Lights" contest. The display was composed of over 30,000 lights synchronized to various Christmas tunes. You can find Jeff's house out in the Galena area in South Reno.

The Lightshowbro in Sparks- This musical light show features over 13 minutes of lights synchronized to a custom musical mix which you can hear from the comfort of your car on 89.3 FM. Shows run daily every half hour from 5p.m. - 9:30p.m. beginning on November 30th and ending the day after Christmas. You can find the show at 5555 Junction Peak dr. in Sparks.

Singing Santa in Sparks- This Christmas lighting extravaganza features Old Saint Knick himself singing various musical tunes. You can find Santa Claus singing these tunes at 4435 Dancing Moon ct. in Sparks right off of Los Altos.

The City of Reno Tree Lighting- The city of Reno will be having its annual christmas tree lighting starting on December 7th, 2016 on the corner of First and Virginia st. right between the Truckee River and City Hall.

The City of Sparks Tree Lighting- The Sparks community Christmas tree will be lit at the Sparks Hometown Christmas Celebration and Parade beginning December 3rd, 2016 at 1p.m.

"The Biggest Little Christmas Light Show"- Lights of Tanea will be returning this year after taking 2015 off. The Lights of Tanea started by raising awareness and donations for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and donating clothes for Friends of National MS Society. They also have a nonperishable food drive for the Evelyn Mount Community Outreach Program. The 2016 show starts Friday November 25th and ends the day after Christmas. Synchronized lighting and music can be heard on 97.7 FM from your car radio. Kids can enjoy free candy canes and hot chocolate Friday's and Saturday's. Operation hours run 5-10 p.m. Sunday's -Thursday's, 5-11 p.m. Friday's and Saturday's and 5-12 p.m. Christmas and Christmas Eve. You can find Lights of Tanea at 16180 Tanea dr. in Southwest Reno.

Ice Skating Rinks- Ice skating can be found at the Aces stadium (Greater Nevada Field) with prices ranging $8 for adults and $6 for children and seniors. Northstar near Truckee has its own ice skating rink with fire pits surrounding the rink for marshmallow roasting and making s'mores.
