An exciting new development is planned to hit south Reno within the next couple of years. Permits to build a Sprouts Farmers Market grocery store has been filed with the city of Reno. This permit shows a $4.5 million dollar budget of new construction on an estimated 30,000 sq ft grocery market.
This will surely bring in some competition for the popular Whole Foods market located on South Virginia st. At Sprouts they believe in "Healthy living for less" and according to their about page "Sprouts is the grocery shopping experience that makes healthy living easy and affordable. Our bright and cheery neighborhood grocery stores offer fresh, natural and organic foods and products at incredible prices – and in an approachable setting that feels like an old-fashioned farmers market (About Sprouts)."
With 250 stores and counting, Sprouts will surely make a great addition to the south Reno area. It is designated to be built in the vacant lot next to Smith's grocery store and across from Renown Medical complex off of South Meadows Parkway and Double R. Blvd. There is no exact date set for the completion of this project according to public records, but when it is completed you can expect a busy day of shopping from eager enthusiast within the community.
